Recently I took a trip back down to Chicago to visit the pop up experience The Happy Place. It’s basically a blogger’s paradise. Instagramland if you will. A warehouse installation with several different rooms full of fun and colorful photo ops! Obviously, I had to check it out before it’s last day, September 3rd, 2018.

My photographer Amanda Vick was already in Chicago, so we met up to play around together at The Happy Place! It was also 95 degrees out, so everyone was a little warm while waiting outside to get in. We entered a few dozen at a time and into the Happy Place we went. Vignette after vignette was filled with backdrops, balloons, props and pretty things. Naturally Amanda and I were in our creative element.

I don’t often dress in primary colors. And honestly, I’ve avoided yellows altogether until just recently. But being the creative that I am, I wanted to do a little color coordination with the rooms in The Happy Place. Love the red striped shirt with the floral embroidery on my jeans. As for the yellow, I have to say I’m warming up to these tones. Pun intended! I was always worried about the yellow color family making my skin and hair look more yellow. But I really like the flowy feminine look of this tie front blouse, and the yellow actually gives me a bright and happy feel. So perfect for The Happy Place!
