This year I’ve been moving towards doing more creative direction for photographers and styled shoots. I love being behind the camera too, collaborating with other creatives and vendors to make photo magic. This Spring I coordinated my very first styled wedding shoot together with Kat of Double You Photography.
I’m so excited to finally to share this collaboration of Milwaukee, WI creatives and vendors coming together to bring to life an indoor styled shoot that’s so sweet, bright and maybe most importantly, eco-friendly! The inspiration for our shoot was colorful, playful and full of plant life. Florals included succulents, air plants and pops of color. Bright pinks and red to both compliment and contrast the greenery while simultaneously giving us happy, Summer vibes.
A very special local vendor, Cream City Ribbon, inspired me so much for my first styled wedding shoot with their 100% cotton ribbon. This ribbon is also 100% recyclable and will decompose quickly. I incorporated here in the bouquets, flat lays and cascading down as decor. The place “cards” were not paper, but marble hexagons to go home with guests from Lettering by Natalie. Sweet little air plants as the guests favors encourages a green thumb and celebrates plant life with an easy, eco-friendly dirt-free favor by the Pink Peony LLC. Stunning bouquets, boutonniere, floral crown and centerpiece floral by also created by the very, very talented Pink Peony LLC. Live plant life inside the bright, brick covered Milwaukee venue, The Seeboth, serves as perfect decor and boho feels while also improving indoor air quality. Table decor was mostly upcycled from Goodwill to help support their business and avoid unnecessary packaging from buying new. Classy and simple succulent topped cake from local favorite Yield Bakehouse. Cotton candy treats from Sugarsmith Madison are super sweet, fun and unexpected! Plus very little energy to make, with only paper to recycle as waste.
Bride’s cap sleeve A-line gown by Amelishan Bridal has leaf-y lace on top that coordinated perfectly with our theme and vision. The leaves trail down into a lot of romantic and dramatic layers with a sassy leg slit. Bridal belt by Jaxie Bridal to accentuate the waistline and add a little sparkle. The girls each had a gorgeous natural glow with makeup and colors perfect for each one by Kabao Knanga Artistry. Soft and romantic bridal hair was so beautiful compliments of Hair by Smash, and versatile enough to accommodate the flower crown. The photography edits by Double You Photography are modern, moody and sharp.
Special thank you to our models, bride Amy Joswisk of Barn Owl Boutique, bridesmaid Jodi K Edwards, Groom Louis Williams.
a true, modern boho bride would want some earth friendly and eco details included in her wedding day!
