Christmas is coming! I’m so excited for our first Christmas morning in the Henesy House with Lillian. I feel like I’ve been celebrating the holiday season ever since I directed this shoot weeks ago. Today, I’m so happy to share highlights from the holidays mini sessions I styled.
My photographer, Amanda, was ready to do her first round of mini sessions and asked me to help with the set styling. Right away, I was on board! We wanted to keep it simple, clean and modern with some cozy, classic Christmas vibes. We also wanted to create a great experience for our clients. So I created this mood board to communicate the modern style and set proper expectations for the sessions. I also created an info board to suggest clothing colors and pieces to help people coordinate with the set and get the best possible pictures!
I knew I wanted some natural elements to balance out the black and white. Brought in some wood stumps and greenery that I cut right off of my backyard bushes. A big, green wreath and some string lights to add the holiday feels. We also were lucky enough to get fresh baked cookies from Yield Bakehouse for the set and as sweet treats for the clients to take home!
Of course, I had to take advantage of the photo op with my set AND a chance to wear matching flower crowns with my mini me Lily! It really was a lot of fun styling the holiday mini session set and doing more creative directing. Hoping to keep going and making more beautiful photos in the new year!
