Cream City Cool

Cream City is a nickname for Milwaukee. My first assumption was that this name had to be referring to all the dairy farming here in Wisconsin. But it is actually referring to the cream colored buildings! Cream City brick was made from a clay found in the Milwaukee area and used in the constructing of old buildings, churches and nearby lighthouses.

I felt Cream City cool in this outfit when I recently spent a lovely Spring afternoon with one of my best friends in the downtown Third Ward district. After hours of coffee talk and catching up we headed outside to enjoy the sunshine and the scene. Black high-waisted pants and cognac booties are so casual chic and a classic color combo. Since the pants are cotton/denim, I made sure to dress up the top with a polyester polka dot Portofino blouse. Instead of the standard tuck, I decided to accent the high-waist by tying the blouse into a crop. The classic black and white polka dot print adds the perfect amount of interest without being too busy. Gold and black accessories finish the look. I love living in my life when I feel coordinated, chic and Cream City cool!
