    The end of an era… If you were wondering what I’ The end of an era… If you were wondering what I’ve been doing the last 9.5 years… ☝🏻 Being a SAHM. Giving them my everything. Putting almost everything else aside. Making magic. Making memories. Building a home, to love our lives. If you asked me 5 years ago if I’d be this sad about them both being in school full time, I would laughed at you. Told you I was counting the years. Maybe even got jealous of working parents who didn’t have to parent 24/7. Who got to leave the house and talk to adults. But now, now….. it’s different. It doesn’t feel like the freedom I thought it would. The bus drives away and part of my heart goes with it. I wonder and worry about them. Are they sad or frustrated? Are other kids being nice? Are they missing me? Cause I miss them. Waaaay more than I expected. They’re my favorite little humans and I like being with them. I like the little voices and hearing their kiddo thoughts. I like when their friends come over and run around the house. I like when they ask me to play things and want to show me what they’ve made. I love being their mom! The thing about stay at home motherhood is that you’re fully immersed in it. From being woman to a mother and milk machine overnight. BAM just like that, you’re in a whole new world. And you adjust everything in your life to take care of and accommodate them. Then one day, kindergarten begins and BAM, just like that, they’re both gone. You’re alone again like you were years ago. But the house is quiet with no one asking you to play restaurant or build a train set. You find that playing restaurant and building the train sets were more than you realized. Means more to them than just toys. It means love and interest in their existence. It means mom is my friend. And for me as mom, I found the play time was for me too. When you’re fully present in play time, it’s a visit with your own inner child. It’s a good way to shut out the rest of the world and adult problems for that time. To just BE there with your child and join their little world of imagination. What a gift it can be in the right mindset! I’ll cherish those memories and sometimes remembered to hit record…
