Streetcar Style
Welcome to The Hop! Milwaukee’s newest public transportation and first urban railway. After all of my years commuting around downtown Chicago, I became pretty comfortable and very grateful for the the city’s public transportation. I lived for over a decade without a car or car payment. Once I moved here and heard about the controversial and pending Milwaukee streetcar project, I was all for it and excited for my new city’s growth and progress. There’s already plans to add more routes!
Recently I got my chance to check out The Hop and rode it around Milwaukee in streetcar style! It’s a pretty smooth ride and very user friendly, and of course, ADA accessible. It all felt so fun and familiar… waiting on the platform, balancing while holding the straps and missing my stop because I’m talking to a fellow commuter too much!
Why it works:
Obviously this is more of an urban, street chic, business casual look for my streetcar style. Think boss babe with some edge. This outfit is so polished, yet so completely comfortable at the same time! The high-end black joggers feel like an absolute dream on and look like a million bucks. Pair with sneaks for an athleisure look. Or I paired with the patent pumps for a more feminine, dressy look. The sleeveless shirt is tucked to define the waistline and feel a little more formal. This olive cropped jacket will add instant cool to almost any look! Works very well here with the high-waisted joggers and adds in a a little color. Plus, we almost always need a jacket to be Midwest dressed. Quilted leather handbag has such a classic feel to add the right finishing touches to my streetcar style.
