Since we moved into this house in 2019, I’ve had big dreams for her big girl bedroom. Pink was an obvious choice while she’s still so young, but I went with a much warmer pink than I did in her nursery, and I DID let her choose from the paint swatched I brought home. (*It’s important to note right away that the only reason my 5 year old has a queen sized bed is because we upgraded to a King when we moved here, her lil brother got her toddler bed, and we didn’t see a reason to purchase a twin and have a queen mattress set collecting dust in the basement.) So now she’ll have this bed and furniture until she goes to college!
As the new Henesy House and bedrooms began to take shape, Lillian was handed down our nightstand lamps, white dresser and my old Amazon vanity desk from the old house. I scored amazing vintage pieces for my room. The house shaped bookcase my husband made for her nursery, and her other pieces I was able thrift, find on FB market place and make myself!
I just loved the classic feminine feels of coordinating stripes and florals. So when I had the chance to redecorate my daughter’s room I knew I had to incorporate it. I also LOVE wallpaper and getting big prints on a wall… but I don’t love hanging it and/or removing it. So when I saw these tapestries while shopping for my Mother’s Day session sets, I knew they were the perfect answer to both projects. I ordered the largest size tapestry and it perfectly matched the wall height, but I decided I wanted to cover the whole back wall and I needed a second. I started hanging at the edges with gold tacks then folded back to make a “seam” in the middle. Then finished it with a matching wreath that I’d I’d also bought for her nursery.
