Last minute Christmas gift wrap
This past weekend I attended a Christmas party with some girlfriends. I had purchased the hostess gift and luckily it came with a box… But as I’m getting ready I realized that I hadn’t yet bought any holiday wrapping paper. However, I did have plenty of white tissue paper saved from past gifts, this adorable red and white herringbone ribbon remnants leftover from last Christmas, and I almost always have fresh rosemary in my fridge (due to my amazing go-to chicken recipe, post coming soon).
*This idea is best for smaller gifts as tissue paper is typically about 20″ x 30″
– 2 pieces of white tissue paper
*(only 1 piece is too thin), this is also very inexpensive at any drug store.
– 1 long piece of ribbon
* I ALWAYS keep ribbon around! Once you start buying a roll or two it’ll be easy to grab pieces like this when you need. White satin ribbon is a great go-to neutral ribbon. It’s clean, classic and will dress up any package for any occasion, any time of year. Here the red patterns contrasts nicely with the white paper. I also keep the remnants and will take back if my gift owner does not want (this will save you $ not having to buy more ribbon).
– 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary (thyme, lavendar, dill, or eucaplytus would also work well)
***Just thought of this~~~ YOU COULD SIMPLY SNIP SOME BRANCHES OF THE BACK OF THE EVERGREEN BUSHES OR YOUR FRESH CHRISTMAS TREE! Tah-dah. What a great way to bring a natural element of holiday!
I really enjoyed wrapping and giving this pretty package. The hostess loved opening it as well! And yes…. I did get my herringbone ribbon back to be re-used on yet another gift 😀
