Punta Cana

~Lauren Exploring~

A couple of winters ago, when Chicago stayed single-digits for weeks on end, we decided we needed to fly south and escape the frigid Midwest. Wanting to check out the Caribbean while not spending too much time in the air, we decided on Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. (Sidenote: SO happy we did this before the whole Zika epidemic scared us of out of tropical travel and caused us to cancel our honeymoon earlier this year.) Not only was I excited to get in the sun and sand in February, but also live the resort life for my first time! Took tons of pics, but still only had an iPhone to record my “Lauren Exploring” memories. We stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana resort where all meals were included in our package, staff was amazing and accommodations were on point. Not to mention how scenic the entire compound was! From the beach, to the pool to the well manicured gardens as scene in the picture above. So is Punta Cana paradise?…. Probably!

What a dream this trip was! Definitely one of our favorites. And someday, after Zika is gone and babies are born, we’ll return. I left enough space in the heart on the post to add more dates to! Hope you enjoyed my Lauren Exploring recap, even 2 years later! Almost caught up… Our next trip wasn’t until after we got engaged, bought a house, moved to Milwaukee, planned a wedding and got married! So stay tuned for our mini-moon in Lauren Exploring Lake Geneva!
