Charleston, SC – Isle of Palms

After my first Wisconsin Winter in Stay at home mom life, one of our longest winters, where I may have lost my mind somewhere in the Henesy House, we had to get away for a vacation! And when Grandma can’t come to you, you go to Grandma. Luckily, Grandma and Grandpa Henesy live in a popular, and most importantly warm, vacation destination, Charleston, South Carolina! Our first part of the vacation was spent just outside the city on the Isle of Palms.

Maybe the most important thing for us to do on our vacations is nothing. AKA relax by a pool or beach as much as possible. We stayed in a cute beachfront condo at the Wild Dunes resort on the Isle of Palms. We had access to two private beaches and three pools!

After a few days of relaxing and sleeping in sans baby, Grandma Henesy was kind enough to bring Lillian over to the resort to swim and try out her ocean legs again!

Beach mornings…

Morning vibes included yoga on the beach with the sun on my face listening to the waves while Greg slept in, and getting up super early to catch the sunrise with our coffees.

Ready for date night…

We had the best dinner at a local favorite, The Long Island Cafe.

I become obsessed with the Refuge restaurant on the Isle of Palms. We had our first cocktails of the trip here, in pineapple glasses mind you, and then we came back every morning for brunch! On our last day on the Isle of Palms, Greg got to do some golfing while I brunched here again, then headed into downtown Charleston for some self care and shopping…
