Red Dressed to Impress

“Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.”

Rachel Zoe

Agreed. I am …Bold, bright, a little loud, classy and sassy. Just like this dress! The Midwest weather here in Milwaukee can call for full length sleeves and hemlines as we’re officially one week into the Winter. But sometimes we still need to be dressed to impress. And sometimes you want to make a statement, wear a bold color, busy print or D. All of the above! I was sure red dressed to impress with this gorgeous printed maxi dress. The dress gives me such a stylish, urban, NYCFW feel that I had to photograph it in downtown MKE. I got many, many compliments from my fellow Milwaukeans, men AND women, on this maxi dress! I just love the vintage style with button front and lapel collar. Such a classic, chic and feminine look that can compliment ANY shape.

Why it works:

The smallest size available is Small. This left A LOT of extra room on my petite frame. So I searched through my closet for sashes from other pieces. Found this muted royal blue sash that coordinated and complimented the other colors. The bright warm red and navy blue are the dominant colors in the dress. So navy or black pumps (yes there’s a black in the print too) would work well. I just happen to have this 3yr old pair of red pumps that happened to EXACTLY match the red in the dress! It was truly meant to be! I’m 5’2″ but the dress hits at the perfect length to show off the shoes. Would be great for anyone taller too to show more ankle! Then I brought the black back in with, finishing the look with the edgy little circle bag.
