Lauren Exploring a Lavender Farm

~Lauren Exploring a Lavender Farm~

Last summer my husband and I did some exploring of our new home state and drove up to Door County, Wisconsin. We found the loveliest bed and breakfast called the Double S Lodge (See my B&B pics here). Then we ventured even further north to Washington Island, WI. On this quaint little island is Fragrant Isle, a lavender farm that was an absolute must-see for me. Being that we were there mid-week in August, we had the pleasure of being among the few guests at the time. We got to see some of the harvesting process and watch how the oil is extracted. It was then that the farmer informed us that we had missed the blooming, bright purple bushes and that there is a festival every year to celebrate. AND that festival just happens to fall over my birthday weekend. So naturally we booked another stay at the Double S, brought the MIL in to stay with baby girl, and are heading back up north to relax. Which will be easier with some fresh, organic lavender oils!

There is also an adorable cafe and shop at Fragrant Isle where you can get just about every kind of lavender product that you can imagine. I chose an oil and a linen spray. I mean, who doesn’t want their sheets to smell like lavender when their head finally hits the pillow? What an easy little way to love living in your life!

These pics are from our first visit, when I was about 4 months pregnant. I know things will look so much different with all the people, food and music at the festival. I’ll definitely be snapping lots more pics and Insta stories for when Lauren is exploring a lavender farm again!
