Floating in Black Floral Pants

Recently I was invited by Pamela Kieck, Badger Liquor and Veuve Cliquot on a boat ride along the Milwaukee river. Anything that involves champs and chatting with my blogger babes is already appealing. But also while floating through the city on a Veuve cruise? YASSS PLEASE!

So it was time for some pre-summer style to look good, feel good, and love living in my life to the fullest on this awesome opportunity! I’d been wanting some floral wide-leg pants for my 2018 summer style. I found this full length, tie-waist, black floral pair the day before our Veuve cruise and hemmed them up myself half an hour beforehand! #petiteproblems Paired these floral pants with one of my favorite crop tops, grabbed a floppy sun hat and headed to Badger Liquor on the Milwaukee River.

First, we had a quick tour of the Badger Liquor Bar space where they host corporate events. We went through a speakeasy style hidden door to a whiskey room. Being a whiskey lover, I was lucky enough to get tasting and then it was off to the Veuve Cliquot boat! I was so excited. I love boat life and had not yet been boating in Milwaukee since we moved here. We popped several bottles as we enjoyed our city from a new, nautical perspective. Floating along the river, on a hot Wisconsin evening, sipping champagne in style felt pretty darn fabulous!

Why it works:

Wide-legged, printed pants are very on trend for this year’s Summer style. These pants are especially on trend due specifically to the floral print in black and the tie at the waist. The full-length and wide cute of the legs elongates the body to make anyone look taller and slimmer. Since the bottoms are big/wide the top needs to be small/slim, and because the waist is so high and covers my belly button, I topped the pants with a crop top. This could also be achieved with a form-fitting tank top. Stripes and florals are a classic combination for prints. Just make sure the colors coordinate. Floppy hat and block heels to complete the Summer style.
