Black Bean Burgers

“They’re surprisingly really good!”

~My husband

Non-vegetarian-man approved! We’ve been a little obsessed with these black beans burgers I whipped up from reading several different recipes. I LOVE finding new ways to feed the family tasty, vegetarian meals! Note: Lily did not like the black bean burgers…yet.

Recipe

~makes 4 standard size burgers
1 – can black beans
1/2 – green pepper
1/3 – red onion
4-5 – garlic cloves
1-1.5 – cup panko bread crumbs
Grapeseed oil
Spices to taste –
Pink Himalayan salt
Black pepper
Turmeric
Cumin
Chili Powder
*Just a dash or 2 of cumin and chili powder.

Mix all ingredients, except grapeseed oil, into food processor or blender. Mix very well, adding more panko if needed, until you get a nice thick mixture. Heat about 2 TBSP of grapeseed oil in a pan on medium heat. Preheat oven to 350. Remove blade and form bean mixture into patty size of your choosing. Cook 4-5 min on each side, or until there’s a nice crispy layering forming on each side. Flattening and forming patty with spatula as you flip. Add cheese of your choosing, if desired. Transfer to oven to cook another 5 min. Remove and serve with condiments and bun of your choosing. ENJOY your vegetarian black bean burgers!

*We love our cast iron pan and I can transfer directly into oven!
*We indulged with American cheese, pretzel buns and an organic BBQ sauce. that was really good!
